Grow Free Cart Movement

Welcome to the Community Plate Grow Free Cart movement!

Grow Free Carts are all about sharing abundance, reducing waste, and building stronger local connections. Across neighbourhoods, communities are setting up carts filled with fresh, homegrown produce—free for anyone to take, and open to anyone with surplus to contribute. Think of it as a street library, but for your freshly grown garden goodies.

By joining the movement, you’re helping create a more generous, sustainable food system where locals have access to good food and everyone can contribute.

Check out our Grow Free Cart Toolkit to help you get started with your own cart

Awards – Join the movement and register your cart before November 1st 2026 to be invited to celebrate at our Cart Awards ceremony. You’ll also be in the running to WIN an award for your cart! (Only carts from the Mornington Peninsula and Frankston LGA’s are eligible to register for the awards)

Register your Grow Free Cart below so we can celebrate your impact, connect you with the wider movement, and help others discover and support your local sharing hub.
